Coronavirus Emergency Food Appeal

Ramadan 2020 - Be The 1

This year Ar Rahmah Trust is asking you to join our be the 1 campaign and help us to deliver food to 100.000 people and also deliver your Sadaqah or Zakat to poor people in urgent need. Support our campaign and find out more below. This campaign is now an Emergency Appeal due to the conditions many are going through with the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Quran was revealed to our Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) in the month of Ramadan and, in this month, we take time to reflect on our sins, make Du’a, and find compassion for those who endure hunger in their lives. This is a powerful moment of connection, when we all eat, pray and read the Quran at the same time this month, in all corners of the world.

Food Programme - £30 p/month

The Food Program is there to provide families with food for a month. With £1 a day every day for Ramadan we want to help people in Syria, Yemen and Pakistan get the food they need. No one should go hungry ever, we know there are vulnerable people out there that need sustenance and support, fasting will make sure we understand the struggle of hunger.

Zakat - Give your 2.5% every year

We will use your Zakat donations to provide support for Orphans, Widows, Education, Food and tackle Poverty. We have many Zakat Eligible Projects. This practice is called Zakah or Zakat, literally meaning ‘to cleanse’ or ‘purify’, which is the third pillar of Islam. There are many Zakat eligible programs that you can donate to, so what is the 2.5% you need to give to complete your obligations?

Due to disease, pregnancy or old age you might not be able to fast for a long period of time so you need to pay Fidya of £5. We will then use this money to feed the poor.

To atone for the missed or intentionally broken their fast, and a person is not able to fast for 60 days, then they have to feed 60 poor people at £5 per person.
